Rather than addressing the spirit; communication is lost
Electronic, solar, fear, noise, the deer-in-headlights
Turning on, turning off… the tension
Wake up at three
Sometimes it’s the fear that draws you near
Creeping at the surface of the mind
Performing something else, a clarified image and sound to haunt you all the time
The breakage and the repetition, replay replay
Heart beating faster at every trace, every trace
Yet it’s your own imagination and supposed disgrace
I.. wake up
And see the projected images and sound; the fear of my heart
Even having you lie next to me, breathing peacefully
No, I am not at peace
I wish I could wake you, yet not forsake you
Only the soft patterings of the letter-by-letter can comfort me tonight
For I do not want to disturb you
I am a spirit, and you are a spirit
So sleep soundly, tonight
But tonight, I will not be alone
My thoughts are alive, flowing with fear
But at least then, I know I am alive with every sense and
Possibly, it’s just my heart and every organ testing my mind for what’s really alive
